This magical little potion is the reason for Wildchild Remedies. I started making this years ago, for myself, and then for friends and family. Next thing I know, it is my most popular remedy.
This time of year, I am busier than ever. Even mainstream media has begun to applaud the benefits of Elderberry. It has been proven to not only be effective at preventing illnesses, it is actually being recommend to shorten the duration of the flu. Tamiflu and it’s side effects, especially in children, have definitely encouraged me to steer clear of it. So, when my oldest spiked a fever one night, I knew that the infamous flu had hit our house. We rarely get sick, but even we couldn’t escape this one!
Immediately, I stared giving him Elderberry around the clock. Every few hours when he was awake, along with encouraging fluids and rest. 2 days later at lunchtime, he was back to normal. I have heard this bug can last a week or more - I can’t even imagine!
My advice this winter? Wash your hands, limit your exposure, and take your Elderberry 🙃
Looking for a vegan option or a choice for children under 1? I can also make this with organic blue agave syrup or organic maple syrup.
(8 and 16oz orders will come in the amber bottles shown, 32oz orders will be shipped in quart sized mason jars.)
Elderberries*, cinnamon*, rosehips*, black pepper*, and sweetener of your choice (raw local honey, maple syrup*, or blue agave syrup* available. I can also do unsweetened if preferred!)
The honey version of this syrup is only for adults and children over the age of 1.
***Please note, as I don’t use any artificial ingredients or thickening agents, the agave and maple syrup versions are thinner and less syrup like than the honey version. This product is shipped on ice in insulated coolers to ensure it’s safe arrival. Please store in fridge for longest shelf life.
